Inhabit is here to enhance your world outside of our studio. High Performance looks and feels different to every person, but it shares the same DNA. The big secret is there is no secret, just a practice of doing simple things well.
‘Simple done well’ is a philosophy that serves both the novice and the master. What separates the talented, or the inspired, from the successful is a constant process of honing: you don't do things right once, you do them right day after day.
We show you how, so you can take it anywhere. In our workshops, we drill down on foundational movement patterns in the same way the pro athletes do: establishing purpose, mind-body connection, and precision. To practice with InHabit is to meaningfully return to and refine the building blocks at the heart of athleticism, no matter your background.
Canberra is a gateway to Australia’s natural world, the perfect launch pad for adventure. At InHabit we want to make sure you are ready to take the leap. Whether or not you want to build your athletic fundamentals for your sport, the gym, or to get out of the office and into the world, InHabit will get you there.
FROM FUNDAMENTALS TO FREEDOM
Meet the Team
JAMES
BACUETI
Founder
James grew up in the gym. With more than 20 years’ competing at the elite level, from his first National title at age 12 to claiming bronze at the most recent Commonwealth Games. Gymnastics has been a teacher, passing on lessons of perseverance and the importance of foundational movement patterns.
James has spent 15 years’ sharing these lessons as a coach and mentor for Olympians, people starting their fitness journey, and everyone in between. He believes that the best way to teach is through conversation rather than lectures.
The capacity for movement is what enables living life to the fullest, particularly as the birthdays draw closer to 40 than 20. James brings his enthusiasm and dedication shaped by a lifetime in high performance to his world outside the four walls of the gymnasium.
AMELIA
GIBSON
Founder
Amelia grew up in concert halls, classically trained since the age of 3. At the cusp of 20, she diverged from her peers and redefined the limits of her instrument. Trading Bach for Jimi Hendrix, she toured the world and played to festival crowds.
Amelia’s skill lies in improvisation - relying entirely on instinct honed from countless hours practicing foundational techniques to create unrepeatable experiences. Never one to back down from experiences, her band toured three times into Iraq and Afghanistan to entertain deployed NATO troops, earning her the first Australian musician civilian operational service medal since East Timor.
She intimately understands how basics can be used to redefine and elevate creative performance. She brings her approach to athletic pursuits such as mountaineering, sailing and hiking.
