
HANDSTAND
No matter your age, defying gravity is a fun challenge. Handstands are a key that opens the door to increased freedom of movement. Our HANDSTAND workshop approaches skill acquisition in the same way Olympic Gymnasts do, building a handstand from the ground up that will serve as a homebase for further progression. We challenge the idea that Handstands are a static movement, instead teaching a dynamic position that allows you to respond to stimulus in the same way that you do while standing on your feet. Our two streams, RETURN and REFINE, have been tailored to meet you where you’re at.
RETURN:
RETURN provides essential foundational skills in a safe environment, showing you how to integrate handstands into your own daily training environment: front support work, body positioning throughout the kick-up and hold, and wall supported handstands.
REFINE:
REFINE opens the door to a different way of understanding the handstand, modelled on the holistic approach to skill acquisition used by elite athletes. We will cover advanced skills: handstand walking, free standing, handstand push-ups and pressing. We also give you access to the tools and expertise you need to problem-solve your handstand and break out of stasis.
